The Wild Atlantic Way route is one of Ireland’s natural wonders. It’s a beautiful route where the sea and land collide. To promote the route and to spread awareness on climate change, An Post (Ireland’s postal service) choose to make this edition ofstamps scannable with the CEE App.

Passport to the Wild Atlantic Way
An Post, in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, introduced the Wild Atlantic Way Passport. The passport was a way to drive tourists into rural post offices across Ireland and parts of the Wild Atlantic Way. The route has 188 discovery points along the Wild Atlantic Way where tourists could get a stamp in their Wild Atlantic Way passport. Offering the tourists a great experience and a nice souvenir of Ireland.

Scannable stamps

To furtherpromote this touristic route, An Post and Fáilte Irelanddecided to add digital content to thestamps by making them scannable with the CEE App. Digital content page contained video trailers showing the beautiful route, information on the route, latest news and a download link to their own app. Their own app was meant to be a travel companion along the Wild Atlantic Way route.

Digital content

The CEE Platform contains 9 different tagging methods that can be used for different offline mediums ranging from small stamps to large billboards. For stamps we generally use a hidden Chameleon Code which is embedded in the image and is strong enough to be recognized by our CEE App very fast. The beautiful sceneries on the Wild Atlantic Way stampscome to live by adding a digital layer on top of the stamps.
